Many music shops specialize in one particular kind of musical instrument. Guitar shops are particularly common, and can be found in most locations throughout the country. These retailers are often the best source of information regarding all types of guitars, from vintage to digital.

Brass and woodwind music shops are also common. These retailers cater specifically to wind players, and are usually the best source for quality wind instruments. They also carry all of the common accessories, including reeds, mouthpieces, cases, and anything else you might need for a wind instrument.

It is not unusual for a music shops to specialize in electronic instruments. These instruments are becoming a staple of modern music, and the variety in which they can be found is ever expanding. These retailers are often the best place to find quality synthesizers, mixing consoles, DJ equipment and drum machines.
